Sigur Ros - Ágætis byrjun (1999)

Ágætis byrjun - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ORIVMY7A

Ágætis byrjun has a distinct minimal slightly electronic feel. Highlighted by Jonsi Borgensson's falsetto, Sigur Ros, makes beautiful music. Iceland must be proud.

The Flight of the Knife - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CVF41QO6

Bryan Scary 's Flight of the knife is a fun funky upbeat album chock full of fun pop psychedelica. Sounds like a mix between David Bowie and The Beatles... but also unique. Definitely a fun album.

Moon Safari - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B68P6UFD

Favorite Tracks: Kelley Watch the Stars, Remember

A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory (1991)

The Low End Theory - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LME5TNDJ

The jazz-based beats are melodic but hard, and all the upright bass gives the front half of the album an intimate feel. But it's Q-Tip and Phife's deft rhymes that make each track sound like an interview, a confessional, or a career advice seminar, and make this album truly magical.

Favorite Tracks: Check the Rhime, Jazz (We've Got)

Eminem - The Slim Shady LP (1999)

The Slim Shady LP - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HPEIYU38

Eminem's major label debut is nothing short of a breakthrough record. His deeply personal and at times hilarious lyrics are not only amazingly sharp but raw and introspective. Songs vary from his love of drugs to his resentment of his mother and drama with his girlfriend. Laced with dope beats from Dre and others this album is a true hip-hop masterpiece.

Favorite Tracks: Cum on Everybody, I Just Don't Give a Fuck

Radiohead - Hail to the Theif (2003)

Hail to the Thief - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=V5YFZF89

Featuring drum machines and distorted synths, HTTT is a step in the continued evolution of Radiohead. But, HTTT is also a step back from the complete and utter technological wizardry of Kid A and Amnesiac, and sounds a little more like the straight forward rock sounds of earlier Radiohead.

Favorite Tracks: 2+2=5, A Punch-Up at a Wedding

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea (1998)

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=pbewjdcf

I first listened to this album a couple years back and liked it immediately. I had forgot about it as of late, but randomly came across it very recently. The low-fi psychedelic sound is unnervingly good. It's a shame that this band literally went nuts and called it quits because they made beautiful music.

Myths of the Near Future - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TRAQKLXY

The Roots - Do You Want More?!!!??! (1995)

Do You Want More?!!!??! - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XUIRGPSL (*password=311)

David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1974)

The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A3VTC8JY

David Bowie is a conceptual genius. Ziggy Stardust is an album full of imaginative tracks that tell the story of Ziggy- a Martian who comes to earth to save us from banality. Ultimately, the rock star-like Ziggy falls a victim to his excesses of sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

Favorite Tracks: Starman, Ziggy Stardust

Dave Matthews Band - Before These Crowded Streets (1998)

Before These Crowded Streets - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=045FXEWL

Favorite Tracks : Basket Case. When I Come Around, She

Radiohead - Kid A (2000)

Kid A - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=mp4klhxb

Kid A is probably the strangest album to debut at #1 on the US Charts. Influenced by glitch and ambient music, Kid A is pretty much a totally electronic album. Kid A, refers to the Earth's first cloned human. It deals with isolation and depression. The album is pretty dark and abstract- but, features moments of pure symphonic bliss. This album may be a little difficult to "get" on first listen... but if you stick with it and give it a try it is one of the most brilliantly deep and engaging albums you will ever hear. The first four songs are without a doubt, breathtaking.

Favorite Tracks: Everything In It's Right Place, How to Disappear Completely (my favorite song of all time), Idioteque, Optimistic

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) (1993)

Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6JS97002

Laced with heavy, eerie beats, largely based on martial-arts movie clips and soul music samples, Wu's debut album is hardcore hip hop at it's finest.

Tupac - All Eyez on Me (1996)

A Grand Don't Come For Free - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N3JCDQSK

The second album from Mike Skinner aka The Streets is a concept album about a man losing a £1000 and his resulting quest to get it back. Skinner is a master storyteller and the album is as a result hypnotic in its dirty beats and vivid imagery.

Favorite Tracks: Juicy, Who Shot Ya

Nirvana - In Utero (1993)

In Utero - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7EXQD5T8

The final album from Nirvana, In Utero, is not a happy album. It features sterotypical "grunge" rock and is a window into the soul of Cobain, who obviously was a tortured soul, unhappy with his newly found fame. Nonetheless, the album is beautiful and full of great rock 'n roll.

Favorite Tracks: Rape Me, Dumb

Radiohead - In Rainbows [Disc 2] (2007)

In Rainbows - [Disc 2] - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SBT1G3J8

This album was only officially released by Radiohead with the In Rainbows vinyl bundle. Featuring a bunch of tracks that have the same general mood as In Rainbows, these songs are no less great and compliment the first disc greatly. I'm not sure why Thom, Jonny, and the guys decided not to release these gems with the rest of In Rainbows.

Favorite Tracks: Down is the New Up, Go Slowly

M.I.A. - Arular (2005)

Arular - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NEGAIK4Q

Favorite Tracks: Bucky Done Gun, Sunshowers

The Postal Service - Give Up (2003)

This album was the shit when I was in middle school.

Favorite Tracks: Comedown, Machinehead

Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (2002)

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DE8EZBL8

Admittedly, I don't know all that much about Wilco aside from YHF and seeing them once or twice live. But, YHF is a really chill album that has a little bit of an alt-country vibe to it. Sounds to me like a good album for a road trip through the country.

DJ Shadow - Endtroducing (1996)

Endtroducing - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6LL7YX1C

This album is samples mixed and mashed together to create a sonic masterpiece. Billed as the first album completely composed of samples it truly is a musical breakthrough.

The Beatles - Abbey Road (1969)

Abbey Road - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9I94RN8Y

This is the first of the Beatles albums that I really fell in love with. It is such an amazingly complete album from start to finish. The medley from "Mean Mr. Mustard" to "The End" is probably my favorite of the Beatles entire catalog.

Favorite Tracks - I Want You (She's So Heavy), She Came in Through the Bathroom Window

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew (1970)

Bitches Brew - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4HKEA1U6

This is Miles Davis's most accessible album. Less jazzy, more like a rock album. Electric organ and electric guitar are featured prominently. This album was like no other jazz album when it came out in 1970.

Favorite Tracks: Pharaoh's Dance, Bitches Brew

Weezer - Weezer (1994)

Weezer - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=98X0UCVY

Often referred to as "The Blue Album" this album is good time garage rock. Straight forward guitar driven songs anchored by vocal harmonies. This album is full of songs about happy things like love- very different from the often darker grunge rock of the early nineties.

Favorite Tracks: No One Else, Say it Ain't So

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral (1994)

The Downward Spiral - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9OW453AE

(What's the Story) Morning Glory? - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=76J9LDTO

Liam and Noel Gallagher are two pompous assholes. But, they did make a great album. Here it is.

Favorite Tracks: Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova

The Strokes - Is This It (2001)

Is This It - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GBZ8QY2G

The eleven songs on Is This It speed by in just slightly more than half an hour, each one so tightly constructed and urgently delivered that even the ballads seem fast. The Strokes are obsessed with rhythm, and at times their approach is more like that of a soul or funk band than a rock band.

Favorite Tracks: The Modern Age, Last Nite

The Cure - Disintegration (1989)

Disintegration - http://rapidshare.com/files/60741038/TCd.rar

Robert Smith is the poster child of despair and gloom. This album is dark and moody. It features great grooves and wonderful melodies. It makes feeling sad sound good.
